The 204.8 km Gashena-Lalibela-Sekota asphalt concrete road is going to completion.
The Gashena-Lalibela-Sekota road, which is part of the Gashena-Bilbala asphalt concrete road, has reached 87 percent of its 105 km length and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.The Gashena-Bilbala asphalt concrete road is currently paved with 78 km of asphalt. China Railway Engineering No. 3 is an international contractor who is constructing the project at a cost of 1.87 billion birr.

The Hawassa-Chuko 66 km asphalt concrete road, part of the Mombasa-Nairobi-Addis Ababa road corridor, has been completed.Field recruitment for the overall project was completed on site.The Hawassa-Chuko road, built on asphalt concrete, will significantly reduce travel time and cost by modernizing the towns along the route, agricultural and industrial zones, and tourist attractions.
