The Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Dr. Abiy Ahmed, today officially started the construction of the Lake Bistima-Chifra asphalt concrete road.

Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen, Chief of the Regional State Ato Temesgen Tiruneh, Head of the Prosperity Party Office Benalif Andualem, Director General of the Ethiopian Roads Authority, Eng. are invited. The 74.3 km Lake Bistima chifra will be constructed at a cost of over 2.1 billion birr allocated by the government. The Asphalt Concrete Road Construction Project has responded to the people's demand for years, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said. He said residents of the area have been suffering from a lack of road infrastructure for many years. As this story becomes imminent, they convey their congratulatory message to the entire nation.  He said the start of the road is a big milestone and urged local residents and leaders to work together with the contractors to ensure the completion of the road.
