The freely accessible ReCAP Rural Access Library contains a wealth of rural transport and infrastructure research related knowledge items, ranging from infrastructure research papers, design manuals and guidelines, transport services studies, workshop & conference reports and more. It includes research outputs from current and past AFCAP research as well as outputs from the South East Asia Community Access Programme (SEACAP), which ran from 2004 through to 2009. The Library is continually updated with new items and can be easily searched by country, theme, year and other keys.
The Africa Community Access Partnership is a six-year research programme for the rural transport sectors of Africa, funded by UKAid, running from 2014 to 2020. The programme follows on from the AFCAP1 programme (2008-2014). It includes research on design standards and maintenance of low traffic rural roads and on transport services in rural areas. The programme looks to stimulate the effective uptake and embedment of research outputs in policy and practice. AfCAP is part of the Research for Community Access Partnership (ReCAP).
